STAR can rely upon the Marcevaggi Group's 90 years of experience and is strengthened by it's corporate vision which is focused on the future to renewing itself in the path of tradition.
The company
STAR SpA was founded in 2000 with the transfer of the chemical and maritime logistics branch of the parent company, Marcevaggi, with the aim of creating a unit specialized in the transport of liquid and solid products in bulk.
The markets in which it operates are essentially Europe and the Mediterranean, providing a large and cutting-edge transport fleet.
The solid network of subsidiaries, operating throughout Europe, and agents in the Mediterranean makes it possible to serve the primary chemical industry promptly and professionally, offering intermodal, maritime and road transport.
In the last decade, the company has invested increasingly more in the ecological sector, implementing the transport, through tank containers and open tops, of special waste to be recovered or disposed of in Italy and beyond.
Together with the subsidiaries, STAR SpA boasts a fleet of over 1,000 units, including tractors, semi-trailers, tank containers, swap bodies and open tops. Today the company is one of the best in the Italian and European market in the special transport sector in which it operates.

The group
The Marcevaggi was born thanks to the intuition of the Cav. Mario Remondini who in 1934 acquired a small company operating in the port of Genoa, whose name derived from the telegraphic code of the founder Luigi Marcello Vaggi. Together with his two friends and partners Queirolo and Barabino, started what would become a regional and national reference in the transport of special goods.
His son Emanuele Remondini, from a very young age, along with his brothers, takes over the company and leads it towards an international vision, also operating through mergers and acquisitions, including the purchase of STAR SpA in the 70s and the joint venture with the Levorato family in the 2000s.
Then, in 2000, he reorganizes the MARCEVAGGI Group into two specialized companies, STAR SpA specialized in chemical logistics, and Levorato Marcevaggi Srl dedicated to energy products (gas and aviation fuels).
The founder's grandson, Alberto Remondini, graduated in economics and began his first internship at the company in 2004. Following experiences abroad in the financial and maritime transport sectors, he crossed all areas of the company to consolidate a broad experience. This experience eventually led him to become the CEO of STAR SpA about 8 years later and a board member of Levorato Marcevaggi Srl.
The Group operates with partnerships, both commercial and corporate, in different realities, with customers, service providers, or other stakeholders, for the management of transport and storage of special goods on a European level.
The strength of the group is supported by the retention of the management, the ability to monitor specific markets and the flexible and proactive approach to managing the amount of business. Thanks to the knowledge of its companies, the group is able to meet the needs of the entire supply chain, expanding the geographical coverage and the range of services offered.
